Don’t be surprised this is another knitting reason. You can’t say I didn’t warn you! Knitting has been part of my life since I was nine years old, and brought me much comfort through my husband’s many surgeries and hospital visits. Knitting even became part of the ad hoc ministry my daughter and I had at various hospitals, giving us a chance to share God’s love with others.
I’ve already stated that I’d like to be able to use yarn donated by my church to creat scarves, hats, and blankets for the ministries we serve, but I’ve only got two hands and limited time. But what if there was a machine that could do it faster? Wait, there is!
Following my parents’ tradition of letting my brother and I each choose a gift at the end of the school year, I am choosing to treat myself to a knitting machine.
It looks a bit like the wooden spool knitter I had back in the 60’s! Before I learned to knit with real knitting needles, I made miles of knitted cords. My mother had lots of colorful pot pads!
Is there a hobby you’ve taken up recently? Or one you’ve enjoyed for a long time?
