It happens every day: Despite signs hung up on all the train platforms and inside the cars, someone is vaping or smoking. There is a $25 penalty for smoking or vaping on the trains or platforms, but it’s a problem nonetheless. Those of us who have asthma or allergies are sensitive to both smoking and vaping. And yet…
Many who vape feel that it is safer than smoking, but Harvard Medical School cautions that vaping is harmful and can do serious damage to the lungs. In addition, toxic fumes, including heavy metals, can be exhaled into the air, affecting bystanders who have no intention of vaping.
Let’s be clear: Vaping in public is ILLEGAL and HARMFUL.
I am grateful that smoking has been declared illegal in public places, but many feel that vaping is excluded from this rule. What’s your take on this, or another annoying and public habit?
How sad for those who have to be exposed to these toxic chemicals. That’s a very good reason to want to retire!
