When I was still teaching I preferred to eat in my classroom. Because I struggled with staying caught up, I used that time to eat and correct papers at the same time. I don't recommend it. It caused burnout. Taking a pause would have been a healthier approach. Now, as a retiree, I do eat whenever I want without the urgency of time. You'll love it.

I plan to! I often have students working in my room when I am eating lunch. It's rare the time I can eat with other faculty.

Choosing the time to eat lunch whenever you like and wherever you like seems like a good reason to retire. Good luck with your plans!
